Father Gabriele Amorth (1925-2016), the most famous Italian exorcist, was ordained a priest in 1954. In 1985, he became an exorcist for the Diocese of Rome, a ministry he practiced until he died. In 1990, he founded the International Association of Exorcists, of which he was president until 2000. He wrote more than thirty books in Italian, many of which have been translated into other languages. Two others have been published by Sophia Institute Press: An Exorcist Explains the Demonic and Father Amorth: My Battle against Satan.
