John LaBarbara is the founding principal of the Center for Advanced Leadership Consulting and Catechetics (CALC, Inc.). He has been an adjunct professor of Sacred Scripture and apologetics for the Denver Catholic Biblical and Catechetical Schools since 2007. John also served for nearly five years as the vice president of operations for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) and continues to work as a leadership consultant for them. Prior to that, John served as senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Augustine Institute, where he designed and launched the institute’s widely acclaimed distance education program. In addition, he has served as the chief operating officer and consultant for Endow, a dynamic new Catholic apostolate for women.
John graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Sacred Scripture from Simpson University and went on to study New Testament Greek at Fuller Seminary. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Angela, and together they have five adult children and four grandchildren. John and Angela are adult converts to Catholicism who came into the Church after a three-year study of Church history and the early Church Fathers.
