About this item

In the Church’s calendar, every day is special because it is a feast for Jesus, Mary, and the saints! In Day-by-Day Coloring Book of Saints, children will befriend a new saint every day as they color in a full-page image of the saint of the day while listening to their parents read aloud the saint’s story.

Drawing from the liturgical calendar, this charming coloring book showcases the lives of these holy men and women from the early Church to the modern day. Children will encounter saints from around the world, including old friends such as St. Patrick and St. Catherine of Siena, and new ones too, such as St. Paul Miki and St. Gianna Molla.

By coloring and reading Day-by-Day Coloring Book of Saints, children will learn that each saint has a special day — almost like a birthday — when we remember and celebrate their lives so that we can imitate them in this world and follow them into eternal life in Heaven.

This coloring book has a great variety of saints for every day of the year! It's helpful in increasing one's devotion to well-known saints while also learning about new saints. The pictures are charming and the accompanying stories are engaging for young readers. The book represents men, women, and children spanning all ages of Christianity and from all over the world. They all exemplify, with their own unique characters and circumstances, the courageous response to the Lord's call. One tip to parents or teachers; there are several depictions of martyrdom in the book. I suggest previewing these pages as you may deem them too upsetting for your younger children.

The lives of the saints tell the history of the Church and inspire us to live lives in obedience to God. As I flip through this book, I am so happy to have this beautiful resource at hand to pass on the Faith to my children. I love having a different saint each day; this will lead to some great dinner conversations! Since this is a coloring book, it is inviting to a younger audience, and the stories of each saint are written at an elementary reading level so children can read them by themselves or listen to a parent or caregiver read them out loud. As a convert to the Faith, I do not know as much as I would like about the saints, so this book is also a great introduction for me to learn the names and basic stories of the saints and investigate them further on my own. One note: the stories of the saints sometimes end in violent martyrdom; these inspiring acts of faith, courage, and trust in God are crucial for children to learn, but parents may choose to limit these stories to older children (3rd grade) and/or read them in a context where children can ask questions and understand the purpose of martyrdom.

I love this book for its stories and fantastic coloring pages. Every day is a feast, and in this book every feast has a full page story so readers can learn about the feast or Saint and a coloring page to cement that story in the reader's mind. This is technically for children, but I can see an adult happily using this for a bit of casual daily learning and reflection.

A fun way to deepen your knowledge of the saints day by day.
I just recieved this book in the mail today and I wish I had something like this growing up. Looking through it I find that it is beautifully illustrated and accompanied by short but well written stories about the saint of that day. It is a book that will deepen your knowledge in the lives of the saints since it covered many well known saints but also a good many that aren't as well known. I will be giving this copy as a gift to my niece, because I think she will be able to enjoy it while learning about her Catholic faith through the lives of the saints. Note: I did receive a free copy of this coloring book in exchange for an honest review.

This came in the mail yesterday and my 4 year old has been eagerly coloring the pictures and then coming to me to have the story of each saint read to her. I love how substantial the stories are. Both my daughter and I are learning about our faith together. The pictures are ideal for coloring, just detailed enough for fun-filled activity.
