A Beautiful Consecration Book

Donna-Marie's newest book, "Family Consecration to Jesus through Mary", is something that all parents and grandparents will be happy that they purchased for for their families! I like that there is a daily teaching for parents and one for children. Also Donna-Marie stressed the importance of embarking on this journey with love and flexibility because all families have different challenges throughout the day and some days can go smoother than others! And the crowning of the Blessed Mary is perfect for Consecration Day. Ave Maria!

Great family book

This book provides the family with a plan of attack against the evil one whose influence is so much in evidence in our culture today. St. Louis de Montfort wrote a book hundreds of years ago called " True Devotion to Mary " which stresses the importance of the Blessed Mother as the quickest and surest path to finding devotion to her son Jesus. Donna - Marie skillfully uses the de Montfort method of finding true devotion to Mary as a blueprint for the whole family to use. Each of the 33 days suggested by de Montfort opens with a quotation by a saint ( some of whom the children may not be familiar with ) or a quotation from the bible. Each day starts with a morning prayer, asking for special help from the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph. Then comes a teaching for the parents ( many from Thomas a Kempis's " Imitation of Christ " written over six hundred years ago or from " True Devotion to Mary " by St. de Montfort. Donna - Marie suggests ways to simplify some of these teachings so that children can better understand them. She also encourages children to ask questions. Then she suggests a plan of action for carrying out these teachings in everyday life. Then she provides family prayers , suggested by St. Louis de Montfort himself in his book. The Holy Rosary is included in these family prayers. Each of the 33 days leading to the family consecration is ended with the children being tucked in bed assured of being loved by their parents and with the knowledge they are surrounded by holy angels.This is something the children will always keep with them as they make the difficult journey through life. This is a great book which encourages children to ask questions and serves as an alternative to overuse of unnecessary technology.
